Career
Advising Program
The Education to Careers Partnership provides the
students with the opportunities and experiences needed to make
informed life decisions. This requires the resources of the
entire community - parents, schools, colleges, business and
industry. We have many opportunities available to our PHS
students through this partnership. Mrs. Jan Lohrentz will
be here part time to enable students to better define their future
career plans. She will be working with students to investigate
career areas through helping set up job shadowing experiences.
This program will offer the students a double opportunity. For
those planning to go on to college, it may become easier to settle on a
course of study. For those still unsure about the future, this
experience can provide a goal to pursue as well as a first hand look
into that particular area of our business, professional, and artistic
communities that best matches their individual strengths. Career
treks will also be setup for groups of 10-40 students with common
interests. The students and Career Advisor will take visits to several
selected sites in business and industry related career paths. For
further information on our career programs, please contact
either Mrs. Barbara Compobasso or Mrs. Jan Lohrentz in the Guidance
office.
