1) Homework is due when it is due....
Homework is expected to be completed prior to the student's
arrival to the classroom. Homework that is not handed in
counts as zero credit. Homework missed due to absence is
to be turned in the next day of attendance. Here is the
part that will stun the student: At the beginning of every unit,
a syllabus is available that explains exactly what is due and
when. There is no reason to come to class without homework
completed. Discipline yourself to keep up with our
calendar.
2)
Come to class prepared...What
does this mean? Every student will always have a black pen,
two notebooks, a folder, a 2-inch binder, and their A.P. U.S.
History book. Your textbook will always be covered.
Failure to keep it covered will result in a point reduction. These
books cost more that $90.00 each and need to be used well beyond you
are through with its pages.
3) Do not clone homework or any
assignment...
Homework is never to be copied
from another student. This is called "cloning" which is
creating words that have absolutely no intellectual/academic meaning
to you. To make this more easily understood...it is cheating.
Cheating on any assignment/test/activity results in no credit given
towards the assignment. The second incident results in an
automatic removal from the class and will be noted on official
records indicating academic dishonesty.
4) There is no such pass as a Hall Pass or
Bathroom Pass... The meaning of this
should be clear. There are extenuating
circumstances/emergencies that will allow you to be out of class for
a brief period of time. Since you, the student, are to be
following rule number 2 there is never a need for a locker pass.
