Congrats to the award winners of Harper College's 32nd Annual Writing Competition!

In this competition, of the 27 writers honored for their poetry, fiction, drama, and essay writing, 10 were Pirates!

Writers Day 2005

This years Writers Day will be held all eight periods in Altergott Auditorium.

The featured professional writers for this year are slam poet Kevin Coval; professor and writer of travel, fiction, and creative nonfiction, Patty McNair; acclaimed novelist and former PHS graduate Mort Castle; and fiction writer and biographer Sam Weller.  Don't miss their readings 2nd, 6th, and 7th periods.

Student writers will be performing their work 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th periods.

Writers Day will conclude 8th period with a panel discussion, featuring our professional guests.  The discussion, titled How I Wrote to Where I Am, will concentrate on our guests' backgrounds, influences, careers, and advice to young writers.  Bring your questions and come meet the writers.
