Assistive Technology Specialist Job Description:
 | Train staff and students to use various assistive technology devices,
including both hardware and software applications. |
 | Teach assistive technology classes to staff members throughout the
school year and summer. |
 | Monitor student use of assistive technology devices. |
 | Collaborate and consult with staff on assistive technology evaluations. |
 | Consult with the technology coordinator at each high school regarding
the installation, licensing and maintenance of assistive technology
devices. |
 | Consult with Infinitec and other agencies regarding software
loans and purchases. |
 | Participate in continuing training to keep current with developments in
assistive technology field. |
 | During summer months, develop and coordinate training modules for use
during the school year. |
 | Monitor and evaluate the functioning of each assistive device during
times when students and staff are not in attendance. |
 | Make minor repairs, or arrange for the repair, of devices that are not
functioning properly. |
 | Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education. |
