What is the Booster Club? The V.I.P. Booster Club is the only recognized parent booster organization at PHS. Membership is open to all parents, staff and members of the community. The letters "V.I.P." stand for "Very Interested Parents." Who joins?Last year there were 500 PHS families who joined. Our membership also included over 98% of the faculty. We need you! What's the purpose of the club? The club’s purpose is to help improve the quality of student life for all PHS students. We do this through our support of all student activity areas – sports, music, arts, student publications, clubs, etc. We volunteer our services to support as many activities as we can and also raise funds to make available things not provided for in the normal school budget. What has the club recently financed for the school? This is just a sample of the over $23,000 in grants the V.I.P. club made to PHS:
These allocations are made at the end of the school year based upon requests made by teachers, coaches and sponsors and then approved by the PHS administration and by the V.I.P. Board. How has the club supported students?
Is there anything for parents?
We highly recommend that you join the Booster ClubIt is the high school equivalent of the PTA. It is the perfect way to show your teen that you are interested in all aspects of his/her high school experience. There are several levels of membership including one which provides free admission to all home regular season football & basketball games and band & choral concerts. Included in this mailing is a detailed description of the membership types and ways in which you can volunteer. This is your opportunity to join and show your support. Why should you volunteer? The PHS Booster Club provides support services and activities for ALL Palatine students. One of our goals is to encourage the mental, social, cultural and physical development of all students and we strive to support all areas equally. Your participation is essential for success. We encourage you to take a few minutes to look over the various ways in which you can volunteer on the included form. Please feel free to add any other way in which you may want to participate.
