Questions |
The test measures scientific knowledge and its application.
The test presents scientific information in the form of data summaries and
short prompts, each usually followed by one multiple-choice question.
The multiple-choice items assess the ability of students to use critical
thinking skills to evaluate the information presented.
Items are distributed equally across eight Illinois learning standards
treating:
life sciences, chemistry, physics, Earth science, and space science;
laboratory safety, valid sources of data, and ethical research practices;
historical interactions between science, technology, and society |

Instructions - PSAE
Juniors across the state of Illinois are preparing to take
the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE) on April 22 and 23. The P.S.A.E.
measures a student’s progress in reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
Students are required to participate in the P.S.A.E. or Illinois Alternative
Assessment to be eligible to receive a high school diploma.
