Palatine High School Databases Useful for researching the 1950s.
(These links will only work when you are at school. To use these databases from home go to the media center website and choose from home.)

Choose the Mass Ultra edition and then combine the keywords The 1950's with your specific topic. This database will give current articles written about the decade i.e.. today's view or study of the 50's.

This database provides full text articles of the top new stories for each year in each decade. Click on the decade in the box on the right side of the screen and scroll to find a specific topic or year.
 

Choose the Chicago Tribune archive to find primary source material on the 1950's. Enter a narrow topic in the search box and choose the decade from the drop down menu to find articles about events/people during the time of the actual events.
