The Biology Project: Cell Biology Problem Sets & Tutorials
http://www.biology.arizona.edu/cell_bio/cell_bio.html
Sections of this site include Studying Cells (an introduction to cell
biology); The Cell Cycle & Mitosis; Meiosis; Prokaryotes, Eukaryotes, &
Viruses; and The Cytoskeleton. Diagrams and photographs accompany brief yet
informative text.
Cell Biology Topics http://cellbio.utmb.edu/cellbio/
Organized into sections on mitochondria, membranes, microtubules, cilia and
flagella, protein synthesis and sorting, and nucleus, this site has extensive,
detailed information on all parts of cells and cell functions. Illustrations
aid in understanding important concepts.
Cells Alive
http://www.cellsalive.com/
Images- often animated- accompany most of the information at this
user-friendly site that gives explanations of cellular processes and
cell-related diseases. The Cell Models section contains three-dimensional
diagrams of animal, plant, and bacterial cell structures. CELLS Alive! offers
its own take on the popular Web practice of using a “cam” to show live action;
their videos repeat daily and show, in real time, how cancer or bacteria cells
divide. The Links section of the site is small but directs you to valuable,
reliable sites.
