Palatine High School Earns New American High School Recognition from U.S. Department of Education!
Called a "school on the leading edge of reform," Palatine High School celebrates being named a New American High School by the United States Department of Education. The most prestigious award given by the Department of Education, Palatine High School is one of only 10 schools in the nation to receive this designation for the year and one of only 30 to be honored since 1996. "The New American High School award distinguishes Palatine High School for excellence in innovative instruction, technology integration, partnerships with business and community, strong leadership from academic excellence, and academic rigor leading to high student achievement". "This award, along with the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award, validates the hard work and commitment of the entire Palatine High School family" The Department of Education launched the New American High School initiative to recognize outstanding high schools that are committed to high standards for all students and have achieved excellent results. The rigorous nomination process works in conjunction with the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence program.
