November 25, 2006 Two Champions at Prestigious Prettyman- Moore Tournament hosted by Barrington HS From Daily Herald "and fast-improving Palatine both earned a pair; the Pirates’ came from junior Dale Jarosz at 112 pounds. Palatine’s Chris Garcia outlasted MSL rival Dave Kneisel of Barrington to win at 171 in one of the most entertaining finals on Saturday afternoon. “My goal was to get into the final, and anything after that would just be fun,” said an exhausted Garcia just moments after surviving a roller-coaster ride through the third period which saw both combatants come close to finishing the other off until the Palatine senior caught Kneisel for a pin at 5:49. Jarosz, bound and determined to improve on the bottom this season, showed how the extra work in the offseason paid off when he slipped free of Jared Morar (Waubonsie Valley) in his semifinal to gain the advantage to overcome a 1-0 deficit and win 2-1. Once in the final, the first-time state qualifier from a year ago succeeded by pinning Nick Dardanes of Fenwick at 1:12 The Pirates eventually found themselves within shouting distance of a top-10 finish at 13th place overall with 97.5 total points." click here for entire article
