The Early Bird
Summer Running
Program is an
organized
training program
that is run from
Palatine High
School in
conjunction with
the Palatine
Park District.
We have been
running this
program for
nearly 20 years
and it is a big
reason for the
continued
success of our
program. This
program includes
both a high
school and
middle school
level, as well
as being open to
all members of
the community to
looking to
improve overall
cardiovascular
endurance. In
past summers we
have had well
over 100
participants
ranging from a
variety of ages
and abilities.
The program
emphasizes a
progressive
building of
endurance,
proper running
form, and
stretching
techniques. One
morning per week
focuses on track
work at the
Palatine High
School track.
Groups are
appropriately
formed based on
experience and
ability levels.
Instruction and
training is
directed by the
Palatine cross
country staff
and other
experienced
professionals.
