PAUL BELO
Head Coach (13th year)
The 2010 season will mark
Paul's 8th at
the helm of the Palatine Pirate program. Belo
enters the 2010 season with a career record 234-194 (123-121, at Palatine). Coach Belo is a
product of the Mid-Suburban League, having prepped as an all-conference athlete
at Hoffman Estates High School in 1985, and a member of the
school’s first ever Elite Eight Qualifier.
As
an accredited coach and clinician Paul Belo’s efforts have been recognized on
the local and national level.
Under coach Belo 15 players have signed to play at the Division One level, 4 of
have signed to play
professionally. In all
46
players have advanced their career at the collegiate level.
For his efforts in the Spring of 2000 the Illinois High School
Baseball Coaches Association awarded him “Area Coach of the Year”.
A Graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago
(UIC) in 1990, coach Belo
was a member of two record-breaking teams in 1988 and 1989 respectively. Currently coach Belo holds a Masters Degrees in Educational
Administration from Roosevelt University and Curriculum and Instruction from
Olivet Nazerene University.
Coach Belo and wife Debbie,
currently reside in Algonquin. They have three children, Taylor, Madison,
and Bryan.
